Transmission

Play-Out Technician

Help ensure the smooth, uninterrupted delivery of Family Media broadcast content across our platforms.

Nairobi, KenyaDeadline: 2nd September 2026

Key responsibilities

  1. Monitor the broadcast signal to ensure we remain on air.
  2. Assist in creating playlists and packaging shows on time.
  3. Manage and verify content before broadcast to ensure it is broadcast-ready.
  4. Upload and catalogue in-house aired TV shows on YouTube and Vimeo, and confirm content is correctly backed up on the server.
  5. Ensure adequate power and fuel are available for generators.
  6. Maintain broadcast equipment and troubleshoot technical issues, including during live broadcasts.
  7. Schedule advertisements, logs and mentions accurately as shared by the promotions team.
  8. Submit daily reports on completed tasks and equipment status to the General Manager.
  9. Report work-related or technical issues promptly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering.
  • Previous experience with playout automation systems and broadcasting technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues under pressure and during live broadcasts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle live broadcast challenges.
