Can God use me?
Matthew 6:31-34
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
We worry about the future, what we will eat, what we will drink, what we will wear, will we have a good life? What about our children? For some reason, though God declares that He has a good plan for our life, we struggle when we have to entrust our future with Him. I can guarantee you there are many people who have not walked in obedience to Gods call over their life because they are worried about the future and how things will turn out. On one hand, we worship God and proclaim that He is a good Father, the one who is all mighty and all-knowing and the one who has our very best at heart but for some reason, we cannot trust Him with our future? We would rather have full control of our lives.
When my pastor friend told his parents that he was resigning from his lucrative job to join the ministry because God had called him, his father was furious. One of the very first statements he made was “Now you want to become a beggar?” because he saw all pastors as beggars, men who had nothing else to do but beg from others. That was many years ago, his mind has since changed.
Are you afraid to say yes to God because you are scared of the future?
You do not have to because though you are not in the future, the God that you serve is already in your future for He goes before you to make every crooked path straight. He is well able to take care of you and your family. He who created the universe cares for you.
Romans 8:32 (NIV)
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Take Out
God has a good plan for your life, your future is safe with Him, do not be afraid to walk in obedience, He wants to use you.
Remember
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
