Ecclesiastes 3:1
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven.”
Have you ever missed an important appointment because you got the timing wrong? A gentleman once missed an important exam because he got the timing all wrong. He had an engagement the night before the exam which ended quite late. In his mind he knew that his exam was the next day in the afternoon so when he got back home in the wee hours of the morning, he knew he had a few hours to sleep then get ready for his exam and he did exactly that. When he got to the exam room he was shocked to discover that the exam happened that very morning and his opportunity was lost.
We must learn to individualize the promises of God over our lives. When he says that he is doing a new thing, what does that mean to me as an individual? What season am I at in my life and how does it relate to the new thing that God is doing? This also calls for a close walk with God through fellowship with the Holy Spirit because then, he is able to guide us. Remember the bible says that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by God.
May we realize that though we are faced with similar situations, we are in different seasons in our lives and it is paramount for us to understand our seasons and relate them to what God is doing so that we allow him to lead and guide us. Let’s not make assumptions, let’s connect with God to understand the times and seasons of our life lest we miss an important appointment.
