GENESIS 37:7 AMP
we [brothers] were binding sheaves [of grain stalks] in the field, and lo, my sheaf [suddenly] got up and stood upright and remained standing; and behold, your sheaves stood all around my sheaf and bowed down [inrespect].”
A vision or dream is a very powerful thing because it’s a mental picture of where one is going. Sight is a function of the eyes while vision is a function of the heart. It is said that when you have a clear vision of where you want to go, then your brain goes into hard work to create a route that will get you there. So important is a vision that God says;
PROVERBS 29:18 AMP
Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].
From the time he was a teenager, Joseph had a vision of where he was going. He knew that he was destined to be a great leader, a man in a position of authority and he held on to that dream. His dream was from God just the same way you and I have a dream from God whether we know it or not. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says He knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you. This tells me that God has a good vision for each one of us but sadly many perish because we lack the knowledge of that vision, and as you know what you see then you become because the bible says that as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
God speaks to us about our future because He wants us to see the end picture, the possibility of what could be so that we can believe and start walking towards it, even the last book of the Bible is a picture of what is to come and where you and I will end up based on the kind of life we choose to live.
As we start off a new year, do you have a clear picture of where you are going in 2019? What do you desire and how strong is that desire? Have you taken the time to write it down? Remember the Bible tells us in Habakuk 2:2 to write down the vision and to make it plain.
Take out.
Take some time today to write down where you are going this year. Break it down into a 90-day vision, and where you see yourself every quarter.
Remember,
