Understanding the Church: Taking Dominion

Matthew 28:19
19 Go [c]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [d]Amen.
Jesus told his disciples that all authority in heaven and earth has been given to him, and thus based on that he is commissioning them to go and make disciples. Our king has commissioned us to go into all the world and tell people the good news of the kingdom, and he has equipped us to do so. He wants us to take dominion and not be intimidated by the enemy because he has already defeated the enemy once and for all.
It is God’s will that all be saved, and he has made the provision for that to happen. You and me who are saved and have that revelation must go out into the whole world and tell others the good news and not be shy about it because we would rather not offend others.
The church in the book of Acts was a force to reckon with. They took dominion and their impact was felt wherever they went. It was said of them that those who have turned the world upside-down have come here also.
Matthew 5:13 NKJV
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
If Paul, one man, could have such impact in the gentile world in his time with all the persecution and limitations he had, what about us today? With all the technological advancement and the number of believers we have, we should be having far much impact, we should be taking dominion as we bring more people into the kingdom.
We are the salt of the earth, and salt takes dominion when you put it into the food. You do not see it, it is not prominent in sight, but it is prominent in taste. You feel its effect when you taste the food. Can the dominion of our taste be felt?
The church has been called the sleeping giant, may we arise and take dominion for our king in the area that he has planted us. May we walk in obedience and allow him to work through us, that it may be said of us that we also have turned the world upside down.
