Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Two Christians were once speaking of their experiences, and one said, “It is terribly hard to trust God and realize His hand in the dark passages of life.” “Well, brother,” said the other, “if you cannot trust a man out of your sight, he is not worth much; and if you cannot trust God in the dark, it shows you do not trust Him at all.”
Do you trust God? Do you believe his word and what he says? That’s a question we need to ask ourselves every time we feel like God is silent. In reality, he is really never silent because we have his word. Psalms tells us that; Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. This means that if we truly believe that the bible is his word, then he is never silent and we cannot get lost because his word is always there to illuminate and direct. the way we should walk in.
The problem is that many of us only trust based on feelings. If we cannot feel this or that or see this or that then we struggle to trust.
We must grow and mature in our faith to that place where we know Gods word and believe what it says despite what we see and what we feel. Like Daniel in the lions den or the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace we must trust God even when it seems like he has abandoned us and we ate walking through the dark passages of life. Like David we must remember that even though we go through the valley of the shadow of death, we are never really alone.
Like the pilot who fly’s the aeroplane simply by relying on his instruments because the weather is too bad and he cannot see anything because its dark, may we trust the instrument we call the bible when its too dark to hear or see anything. Learn to trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Follow the breadcrumbs in his word because they will lead you to a good place always.
Reflective Thoughts.
Do you trust God because of your senses or because of what he has said in his word?

If his word is a lamp unto your feet and a light to your path, what importance have you given it in your daily life?

Obedience is the indicator of trust. Do you walk in obedience to his word even when it does not make sense?
