The Minds Library: The Renewed Mind

Romans 12:2 NKJV
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world with more than 170 million items. The library was founded in the 1800 and every working day about 10000 new items are added to the library. Can you imagine the different types of information you can find there and how long it would take an individual to go through it?
Your mind also has a library and you are the one charged with the responsibility of adding content to it’s shelves. Your intellect is that part of your mind that is the library. Your intellect has the capacity to gain knowledge and use it in thought. It has the ability to learn and associate but you have the choice of what to feed it with.
Proverbs 18:15 NKJV “The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.”
Knowledge is available but you have to be deliberate in your seeking for it. We live in what we call the information age and there is a lot you can find online today. The sad thing is that this information and knowledge is all jumbled up, the good the bad and the ugly all mushed up together. Each one of us has the responsibility to determine what they will pick and unfortunately many today spend hours taking in the wrong or useless information that has no eternal value.
Proverbs 15:14 NKJV “The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.”
Transformation of your mind begins with gaining knowledge that then forms the library in your mind which becomes the point of reference from which you make decisions execute wisdom and build your life. Remember the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
Tomorrow we will look at your mind’s eye, ‘The imagination’.
Are you deliberate on what kind of knowledge you are consuming? What is the current state of the library of your mind? What will you do differently to ensure your library keeps growing and with the right kind of knowledge.
