The Great Commission: Why Go?

Matthew 28:18‭-‬20 NKJV
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
When it comes to the great commission, many believers have what seems like good excuses why they cannot go.
I am too busy at work or in my business.
I am not a pastor, I am just a simple believer.
I am not a people person, I am an introvert.
These are some of the common excuses we give but it does not change the fact that we have been commissioned to GO!
John 14:15 NKJV
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.
If we trully love the Lord then we will keep his commandments and the great commission is a commandment not a suggestion. The bible says that God’s desire is for none to perish and being co workers with Christ, we have been commissioned to go out and be witnesses of what he has done for us and how he has transformed us. We are the messengers entrusted with the good news of the kingdom.
Think about the early church, they had a passion and a zeal to go and make disciples. So strong was their conviction that suffering and death could not stop them from fulfilling what Jesus had told them to do. They experienced such power and a manifestation of the miraculous because remember, Jesus promised to be with them as they went about fulfilling the great commission.
He is here with us today as well and there is no greater joy as knowing we are right in the midst of Gods will for our life, that is why we should GO!
