Acts 14:21-22 NKJV
And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
The book of Acts is an action book. It tells of the Apostles and how they activated the great commission.
Imagine Paul has just been taken out of the city of Antioch, stoned and left for dead. His disciples gathered around him and he who was thought dead woke up and they went back into the city. They preached, made many disciples then they went to other cities to encourage and strengthen the disciples there. Now that’s commitment.
We see the Apostles going and sharing the good news. We see them baptising and teaching raising up disciples. All this in the midst of persecutions and lots of trouble but they remained focused. In the midst of all, the Lord was with them. They were bold and great signs and wonders accompanied their message.
They left us with a proven blue print that what Jesus said is true and we can do it as well.
We need to arise and get to work.
