The Abundant Life

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Jesus promises anyone who believes in Him an abundant life. But in the same verse He says that there’s a thief, whose interest is to steal, kill and destroy. The thief, the devil, is your enemy, and he wants to plunder your life and rob you of the abundant life that Jesus came to bring you. His aim is to rob us of the safety and the pasture that Jesus promises us, to ultimately destroy us. And he’ll use whatever tool or deception he can to make that happen.
The best protection from the devil’s schemes is the care of the Good Shepherd. Just like a shepherd protects his flock from attacks of dangerous animals, Jesus stands between you and the enemy. The place of safety is close to Jesus, the one true Shepherd who laid down His life for you.
Struggles will be many in this passing life; but when they come, the best place to run to is Jesus. He remains our refuge, He will always protect us. He is waiting. Run to Him to find abundance of peace.
When you are faced with difficult situations in life, how do you respond? Do you fight with your circumstances or draw closer to God?
