Proverbs. 29:18 CEB
When there’s no vision, the people get out of control, but whoever obeys instruction is happy.
It was Helen Keller who said “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”
Sight requires physical eyes but vision requires spiritual eyes. Sight sees what is but vision sees what could be.
There can be no vision without faith thus without faith it is impossible to be a good steward of Vision. Intact the Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God.
Whether it is Noah, Abraham, Joseph or Moses, we are attracted to and amazed by their stories because they were good stewards of Gods vision over their lives. They all had challenges and setbacks they had to overcome but they stayed faithful to the vision even when they did not understand.
Jeremiah 29:11 CEB
I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the LORD ; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.
This is a verse that many believers love quoting and it is good but do we know that vision that God has for our life and do we believe it? Will we stay faithful to that vision especially in times of pain and when it seems that our circumstances are the exact opposite of what God promised?
Jesus left his disciples with a mandate, to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. They took the vision seriously and it became the focus of their lives so much so that they gave their lives for the sake of fulfilling the vision. Their lives are a true reflection of seeking first the kingdom of God. What about you and I today?
To be a good steward of Gods vision is to live a Christian life as described in the bible, it is to walk by faith and not by sight, it is to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh
