Stay Committed

Crossing the Jordan

Joshua 3:10

10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.

Years before this, something similar was taking place. Their fathers had left Egypt with a promise, a promise to inherit the land which God had promised their forefather Abraham. They had seen the miraculous hand of God fight for them as they left Egypt but now here they were at the very point of entering the land but they did not stay committed to the course and they allowed doubt and fear to rule their hearts and thus they lost the promise.

Just because you left Egypt is no guarantee that you will enter the Promised Land.

Joshua reminds the children of Israel that it is God who will drive out their enemies that are before them. What they have to do is to walk in obedience to the instruction of the Lord, they are to stay committed no matter what and as they do their part then God will do his part.

Worry doubt and anxiety when it seems like things are not aligning up in the natural cause many not to enter the land of promise even when they are right at the edge. It was one thing to cross the Jordan but remember they still had to go in and face all these enemies who were well organized at war with fortified cities and probably even outnumbering them nut Joshua says stay committed to the course because it is God who will drive them out, and this we see Him do.

Has God given you specific instructions to follow?

Stay on course and remain committed because when you do the He will drive out your enemies from right before you.

Take out.

Stay committed to God’s instruction, that is your part, your walk of faith and in response to that, it is He who will drive out your enemies from before you.

Remember;

What is impossible with man is very possible with God.
