Prosperity and Good Success

Joshua 1:8 NKJV
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua has taken over after the death of Moses and he now has the responsibility to finish what Moses could not, bring the Israelites into the promised land. God speaks to him and gives him what I call Gods success formula.
Read the book of the law, consistently talk about it not just to yourself but also to those you are leading, meditate on it day and night think about what it says let it renew your mind then be careful to observe to do everything according to what is written in it because that is the blueprint for success and prosperity.
In essence God is telling Joshua that he has given him all the tools necessary to succeed and prosper and now it is not up to God but up to Joshua.
The same applies to us today. Success and prosperity Gods way is different from how the world views it. Think about this, by the time Jesus was saying “it is finished” on the cross, to the world he looked like a failure but to God he has achieved good success.
The word prosperous in this verse means to forge forward not just in anything but in the purposes of God for you. It a means to go forward, to break out to be profitable in that which God has called you to do. Take note that this cannot happen unless you are careful to do all, it is in the doing that we move forward.
It is in the moving forward that we gain not just success but good success. This is the kind of success that is in line with Gods plan in this case to settle the children of Israel in the land he promised. Sometimes success Gods way may look like failure to those in the world but not for long.
This word good success means wisdom it means to be intelligent and prudent. It means to behave wittingly and wisely.
God has given us not only the formula to prosper and succeed but also the tools we need. This means that success is not something we should pray for but rather something we should do.
Reflective thoughts
Do you know the purpose God wants you to prosper and succeed in?
What is hindering you from prospering that is forging ahead breaking out and becoming profitable?
Now you have Gods formula for prosperity and good success, what ate you going to do about it?
