2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
One of the tools the enemy uses to rob us of our destinies is Fear. The reason why the Israelites wandered in the wilderness and a whole generation died not entering the Promised Land was because of fear.
Fear will cause you to hide. Like Adam and Eve in the garden after they had eaten the forbidden fruit. Adam told God I heard you coming and I was afraid so I hid.
Fear is built on lies, it thrives on focusing on the negative. As someone said, fear is having faith in the negative. Fear will rob you of the miraculous because where there is fear miracles cannot take place.
When you allow fear in your life then you cannot please God because where there is fear there is no faith and without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Fear keeps you in a prison, you cannot move, neither can you attain that which God has in store for you. It is fear that kept 11 disciples in the boat because of a raging storm while it was faith that caused Peter to jump out of the boat and walk on the water.
Fear kills your potential because you are so afraid to move, so afraid to try out new things so afraid you stay dormant.
Fear will rob you of your God-given opportunities because it will keep you focused on the negative and not the positive possibilities.
So how do you overcome fear?
Christ gave us the victory when He died and was resurrected from the dead.
Recognize fear is not from God but a ploy from the enemy to steal from you and keep you away from what God has for you.
The word of God is what you need. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. The more you hear the word and believe it, the more you know God’s plan for your life, the more You know the authority that God has given you the more boldness is stared up in you. Re member where there is faith, fear cannot reside.
What is your greatest fear in life?
How has that fear affected how you live your life?
Faith comes by hearing God’s word, what must you do to hear more of God’s word?
