New Beginnings: Maturity and Seasons

Galatians 4:1-2 (NKJV)
“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.”
TD Jakes once shared how when his son was young, he, Jakes, had gone out and bought him an expensive watch. He did not give his son the watch but instead he hid it somewhere in the house because his son was not yet mature enough to appreciate the value of the gift that had been bought for him.
Jakes went on to share how many times, he would be having a conversation with his son and his son would be standing right next to where the watch had been hidden but he had no idea. Only when the son was mature enough to appreciate the value of the watch and to utilize and take care of the gift was the gift handed over to him. It was his all along, it was there even before he knew he needed it but he was only able to have it when he proved that he was mature enough to handle it.
The Bible says that as long a a child remains a child, though he is heir and master, he remains like a slave and is put under guardians until the time appointed by the father. That appointed time is the time when the sons proves to have matured. The time is appointed by the father but it is determined by the son just like in the story about TD Jakes and his son.
God is indeed doing a new thing but the question remains, are we mature enough to understand the season and embrace it? We love saying that we are waiting on God but God is many times waiting for us to mature up so that he can then give us that which he has for us because if he were to give it to us when we are yet to mature, we would waste it and not value it and the very thing that was meant to be a blessing would end up destroying us.
Are you maturing to understand the times and the seasons and the new thing that God is doing?
