Necessary Internal Shifts: A Shift in Perspective

Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Perspective is defined as a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view. Your perspective is determined by the way you think which informs what you believe and ultimately how you live your life. One thing I have heard consistently over this season is that God is doing a new thing and we are not going back to life as normal after we contain the Covid 19 pandemic. If we enter the new season thinking the same way we were thinking then we will miss out on the new thing that God is doing. Remember it is a new thing so we are not familiar with it. Our tendency is to always revert back to the familiar what we know, what we are comfortable with. No wonder many of us struggle with change.

One thing is for sure, this season has forced us to change. Our text tell us not to be conformed to this world. We are not to think the way the world is thinking especially in this season. Instead we should be transformed by the renewing of our mind. How does that happen? By reading the word and praying, by having fellowship with the Holy Spirit who knows the mind and deep things of God, staying connected.

As much as we cannot meet on Sundays as a congregation we have to maintain that connection with God and we must be available to listen to the Holy Spirit. Its almost like God has broken down all the systems and structures that had become a crutch or excuse and now everyone has the time and responsibility to connect with Him to hear what he is saying in this season on a personal level.

This is important because then we will be able to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God for this season and the one to come.
We will be able to know what he is doing and thus align ourselves according to his will. We will be able to gain his perspective and thus see and embrace the new thing that he is doing. There is a shift and only a renewed mind will be able to see it.

Reflective Thoughts
What and who is informing you in this season?

————————–————————–——-

Is your mind being renewed to see the new thing that God is doing as you spend time with Him?

Do you have a new perspective, or will it be life as normal? What’s your new perspective?
