Make Disciples

Matthew 28:18‭ NKJV
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…..
Every believer is to become a disciple of Jesus and after that to go out and make more disciples. This is the commission that Jesus left us with and when you look all over the book of acts, the focus of the Apostles was not really to make converts but rather to make disciples.
The tragedy today is that many believers have left the work of making disciples to the five fold ministers and sadly some of the five fold ministers are so focused on filling their churches with numbers as opposed to making disciples.
We make disciples by going to where the people are just as we see the apostles doing in the book of Acts. Jesus also did the same thing, he went out to where the people were.
We are the carriers of the good news and we must go to the people who need to hear the good news. We are to tell them the good news and believe that the Spirit of God will convict them leading them to put their hope and trust in Jesus.
Discipleship is a journey that takes time and commitment. The people you disciple will make mistakes but just like Jesus you have to love them, forgive them and teach them. It takes patience and lots of diaper changing.
Sometimes we tend to focus more on the multitudes because we want our church to be the biggest. Jesus ministered to the multitudes but he poured himself into the 12.
Who are you pouring yourself into?
Why are you a disciple of Jesus Christ?
Who are you discipling?
