Rejection is something that we do not want to go through and for this reason many steer away from anything that has even a hint of getting confrontational. That is one of the reasons why though we know that we need to tell others about Christ, we lack the courage to do so because we are afraid of being rejected.
1 Peter 4:14 (AMP)
14 If you are insulted and reviled for [bearing] the name of Christ, you are blessed [happy, with life-joy and comfort in God’s salvation regardless of your circumstances], because the Spirit of glory and of God is resting on you [and indwelling you—He whom they curse, you glorify].
To be insulted and loathed is not something that we would look forward to but at times it is part of the package when we tell others about Christ. Those who may resort to insults are blinded by the enemy and thus they do not see the need for a savior, to them you who are trying to bring them to Christ are the one who is deluded. When you understand that, then you will not take their insults to heart because you have an understanding because at one time you were also blinded before you saw the light.
1 Corinthians 1:18 (AMP)
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness [absurd and illogical] to those who are perishing and spiritually dead [because they reject it], but to us who are being saved [by God’s grace] it is [the manifestation of] the power of God.
Take courage today and tell others about Christ. Have the faith that God will turn their lost hearts around. The other thing that you and I have to remember is that our role is to tell them and demonstrate to them through our lifestyle what God has done for us. We cannot save them, only God can do that. Sometimes we feel like we have failed when we tell others about Christ and they don’t embrace Him. We have not failed, we have planted a seed and soon God will cause growth.
Starts where you are by letting others know that you are a believer remember Jesus said;
Luke 9:26 (AMP)
26 For whoever is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and the glory of the [heavenly] Father and of the holy angels.
