(5) I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. (6) If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch, and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
To be able to access and enjoy abundant life, you must know and acknowledge the source of life. One of the things Jesus made claim of is the He is the way the truth and the life. In the beginning we read about how God created man and He breathed life into this lifeless body that He had created. God is the originator of life and to enjoy it we must know that and acknowledge it.
To enjoy abundant life we must give God His rightful place in our lives. No wonder God would tell the children of Israel that they should have no other God but Him. This is because all the other gods are fake and they have no life in them.
Think about this, where God is, there is life. So, if God is the central focus of your marriage, then your marriage will have life abundant. If God is the central focus in your business then your business is full of life abundant. We make the mistake of segregating our lives into what we call spiritual and secular segments and those we deem spiritual then we involve God in them. That’s a huge mistake. God should take the central focus in each and every area of our lives because where He is there is life abundant.
When you think of abundant life, what picture forms in your mind?
What are some areas in your life that you have not involved God fully? Why, and what effect has that had?
What are some ways you can acknowledge God in these areas in your life?
