Influence and Impact: Mindset For Impact

Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Have you ever encountered a fire fly in the dark of the night? It is quite a sight to behold especially if there is a group of them. Here you have these tiny insects that have the audacity to challenge the thick darkness with their little lights, and you know what, they shine. Now that is courage and boldness.
To be the salt and light, we must have the mindset of boldness and courage. Fearful and timid people do not initiate change and impact. The bible says that the righteous are as bold as a lion.
For you and I to influence our world and have impact, we must believe that we are the salt and the light. We must believe that God has planted something in us that has the capability of changing our world. Like the little fire fly we must be audacious and bold to shine our light no matter how small it may seem in comparison to the thick darkness around us.
Unless we see ourselves as instruments that God has mandated to bring about change in our communities, then we will never step out to do anything. We will remain with the status quo in our comfort zone.
The heroes of faith we read about in the bible all had one thing in common, they were bold enough to believe what God said about them and they acted on it.
Do you believe that greater is he who lives in you than he who lives in the world?
Do you believe that in all these things you are more than a conqueror?
Do you know for a fact that you have light and the world needs it?
When we have the right understanding of who we are and what the Lord has deposited in us, then we will look for that lamp stand and climb on it so that we can shine for all to see because we understand, that in the battle between light and darkness, light always wins even if its as tiny as a fire fly!
Do you see yourself as an agent of change equipped to influence your world for Christ?
What are some of the things you are doing to this effect?
Can those who interact with you testify of the salt and light in you?
