Impossible Without Faith

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Pleasing God is Impossible Without Faith. No good works or good behavior is going to get us over the top. It is stepping out daily in faith that will please Him. Our willingness to step out of our comfort zone when we don’t know the outcome and to continue walking when things don’t look promising is faith.

Integral Part of Our Walk
Faith is an integral part of every believer’s life. The writer of Hebrews tells us that it is impossible to please God without it. The difficulty is not in believing in God, but in serving Him with faith. It’s easy to do acts of service that make us feel good or impresses other people. What’s often difficult is to do acts of service that necessitate faith.

Faith Takes Trust
Faith takes trust. First, we have to trust that we are hearing from God. Second, we have to believe that it’s the right thing to do, but probably most difficult is that we have to trust God when we are not confident of the outcome. It is easy to have faith when it’s something we’ve done before or with people we know. It’s hard when we have to step out of our comfort zone. Abraham went to a land he didn’t know for a promise he couldn’t comprehend.

Reward Coming
The reward comes when we seek God and then step out in faith with what He is telling us to do. When, in uncertainty, we push forward with what He is calling us to. This requires us to seek God and coming to Him as a blank slate. Faith is walking where we have never walked and attempting what we have never tried. It is the willingness to do something God has put in your heart even though everyone else is telling you not to do it. Faith is being willing to look foolish for Christ’s sake. God rewards those who earnestly seek Him and believe.
