John 14:16-18 (AMP)
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.
Have you ever felt like God has abandoned you? Has it ever seemed like God is so far away, like a million miles away? As a believer there are seasons that we go through and we tend to feel that way, but this one thing is for sure, we cannot walk with God according to our feelings. To walk with God is a walk of faith for without faith it is impossible to please Him.
Jesus made us a promise that we always ought to remember especially when we are going through those seasons when we feel alone. He promised that He would ask the Father to give us a helper and He already did. The helper whom is the Holy Spirit is with us forever according to the promise. Though we may at times feel like we are all alone, it is not true, the Holy Spirit is always with us. What we need to learn is how to have fellowship with Him.
Sometimes we try to walk in our own strength and we try to figure out things in our own understanding and yet we have a helper right within us because He lives in us but we never engage Him because we don’t know how to fellowship with Him. He is not a force or a thing, He is a person and we need to learn how to fellowship with Him. He knows all things and not just all things; he searches the deep things of God, He knows the mind of God and He is here to help us and teach us.
Are you stuck and you have no idea which way to go or what to do? Are you feeling alone and abandoned? Well you are not. Help is already here and as a believer that help is on the inside of you.
