Help I am Drifting: How not to Drift Away

Hebrews 2:1-3
1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?
Unless you and I are deliberate about our relationship with God, then we will drift away.
The writer of Hebrews tells us to pay most careful attention to what we have heard so that we do not drift away. The question then that i need to ask myself is this; “What is grabbing my attention?” What is my life focused on? Remember Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, We are to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. That should be the most important thing in our life, that should be the thing that we put all our energies and focus on and when we do that all other things will be added unto us!
But what does that mean? Does that mean i have to be in Church everyday of the week? Does it mean I have to spend most of my time reading the bible and praying? How about my life, as some of us may put it?
God told Joshua;
Joshua 1:8 New King James Version
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Reading the word is not enough, we have many people who read the word but you cannot see the impact of that word in the way they live their lives. You and I have to be doers of the word! It is when we do what the word says then we are able to feel its impact in our lives and others are able to see the fruit there of.
To pay careful attention is to scrutinize, meaning to inspect closely and thoroughly as with a magnifying glass so as not to miss even a single detail so that we may be careful to walk in obedience to his word no matter what the world says!
What have you heard?
Have you paid close attention to that which you have heard or has it entered one ear and left through the other?
What are you doing about what you have heard?
