Heart Transplant: Wayside Heart

Matthew 13:3-4
Consider a sower who went out to sow. As he was sowing, some seeds fell along the path and the birds came and ate them up.
Matthew 13:19
When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one come and snatches away what was sown in his heart.
Before Jesus explains the meaning of this parable he quotes from the book of Isaiah saying, you will listen and listen and yet never understand.
The seed is the word of God and there is nothing wrong with it. As long as it falls on good ground it will produce fruit each time every time.
The problem comes in when we try to approach the things of God with our understanding. The enemy knows the power of the seed, the word of God, and he will snatch that word from your heart when you do not understand it. Remember his plan is to kill, steal and destroy.
Ephesians 1:17
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the glorious father would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.
One key thing you and I need to pray for every time we interact with God’s word is to pray for understanding. Hearing alone is not enough. Many people hear, but few understand. Understanding can only come from Him who is the word, Jesus Christ. We need to realize that every time we hear the word, and we do not seek to understand it, so we can walk in it then we give the enemy access to come and steal it.
Questions are the gateway to understanding. The disciples asked Jesus why He spoke in parables, and through their questions they gained understanding. It is never foolish to ask questions to seek understanding. Only fools never ask questions.
Acts 8:30
When Philip run up to it, he heard him reading the prophet Isaiah and said,” Do you understand what you are reading?”
God directed Phillip to the Ethiopian official so that He could give him understanding, He will do the same for you, all you have to do is ask, and He will open up your understanding.
