Hating the False Way

Psalm 119:104 (AMP)
104 From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.
David was a man after Gods own heart; he was a man with passion and though he had his faults, God still said of him that He is a man after my own heart. We have already talked about how David was a man who loved the word of God and his love of God directed his path. It is from this word that he got understanding therefore meaning that understanding led him to hate every false way.
You can only hate the false way once you get exposed to the truth and you embrace it. In verse 100 to 102 the word says;
I understand more than the aged [who have not observed Your precepts],
Because I have observed and kept Your precepts. 101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word. 102 I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, For You Yourself have taught me.
We have to understand and observe the precepts of God, We must discipline ourselves because the word says; I restrained my feet from every evil way that I may keep your word. Feet and way talk about where you go and the kind of things you give yourself to, your purpose and destiny. What kind of path are you walking along and where does it lead to? Is that path in contradiction to the precepts of God? Then you have to restrain your feet from walking in that way so that you can observe and keep the precepts of God.
David was not a perfect man and when he walked along the path of evil and the prophet pointed it out to him, we see a broken and remorseful man who went back to his God to cry out for mercy and forgiveness. God is merciful and ready to embrace us when we recognize or sin and run to Him in repentance. He says in 1 John 1:9 that He is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “[a]I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus said He is the only way that leads to the father. To hate the way of evil means to walk the way of Jesus. Not only is He the way, He is the truth and the life! Jesus hated the false way and he was pretty hard and the religious people of his time saying they were like white washed tombs white on the outside but on the inside they were full of dead men’s bones. Claiming to know the way yet they were full of evil and deception. They were not walking the way of truth and in their deception they were blocking others from walking in truth.
Do you want to be a man after Gods own heart? You must understand His precepts and love them. You must restrain your feet from taking you down the path of evil, you must not turn aside from the word of God, and it must always be the one that guides where you walk and how you live. You must hate the false way.
