Romans 8: 38-39 NKJV
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Unconditional love, that’s a hard concept for many of us to understand because we are so used to conditional love. I will only love you if it suits me and you meet my needs and desires. The moment you step away from those then I don’t love you anymore.
The grace of God is unconditional love. It is not based on what we do or do not do, rather it is based on who God is and as we know, God is love.
The bible says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It as well says that ; For God so loved the word that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord, that’s the power of Gods unconditional love.
Think about this, Jesus said the whole law and the prophets can be summed up this way, love God with all your heart mind and soul and love others as you love yourself, unconditional love. That same love that God extends to us is the same love that he expects us to extend to others and allowing him to live and reign in us empowers us to be able to do so because on our own accord and strength we cannot extend that kind of love.
Sometimes we fall and we allow the enemy to deceive us into thinking that what we have done is too ugly and such a wicked sin that God cannot forgive us and he is so mad at us. Nothing could be further from the truth, just like the prodigals father run to him embraced him forgave him and restored him, our God is waiting for the prodigal to come back home because nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus.
Now that’s grace.
