1 Peter 1:6-7 AMP
In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Trials are part of the walk of faith and how you view them will greatly determine how you go through them.
In Acts 5 the Apostles left the Sanhedrin rejoicing that they had been counted worthy to suffer disgrace because of the name of Jesus. How do you rejoice when you are going through trials and disgrace? They must have known something that many of us today do not know.
The book of Romans tells us that the present suffering that we are going through cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed in us.
Peter tells us that we have been distressed by various trials so that the genuineness of our faith my be revealed. Just like silver and Gold which is taken through the the fire to remove all the impurities and make it of even more value, yet it damages not the silver or gold, so it is with the trials we go through.
That trial that may seem to be overwhelming you right now will not last forever. It will leave you stronger in faith and with a story to tell of the goodness of God.
Today we read of the great men and women of faith in the bible and we marvel at how they stood firm in their trials and God came through for them. Their trials are now their testimonies, valuable gems that encourage the body of Christ everyday. I am sure at the time they were going through them, it did not seem so but still in faith they focused on God and held on.
Rejoice even in your trials, because you are not alone. God promised never to leave us neither forsake us and so He is right there with you and soon after the trial has accomplished its purpose, you will remain with a precious gem, a testimony of Gods faithfulness and goodness.
Stand firm, you will make it.
Reflective Thoughts.
What is the trial you are going through currently or the last trial you went through?
