JOSHUA 3:3 AMP
…and they commanded the people, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from where you are and follow it.
The children of Israel were finally there, ready to enter into the land of promise but there was one issue; before them was the Jordan River and it was flooded and they needed to cross it. There is always something standing between you and the promises of God and you must conquer that thing if you are to attain the promise, but how do you do that?
Yesterday we talked about focusing on the Ark, the children of Israel were to focus on the Ark which was a representation of the presence of God in their midst, but why focus on that? They needed to focus so that they know when to move.
The instructions were clear, focus on the Ark and when you see it move the set out from where you are and follow it. The issue is not just to move, but to move following the presence of God and let it guide you.
This talks of faith and trusting God because the ark moved them into the very Jordan River that was flooded. Reminds me of Jesus calling Peter out of the boat into the very waves that were threatening their lives.
To cross your Jordan you must be willing to move out of your comfort zone and follow the presence of God. You must have the faith to move even when it seems like God is leading you into the very thing that seems to be out to destroy you and that takes faith. Remember without faith it is impossible to please God. The promises of God can only be attained through faith
Who are you following? Is God leading you or are you leading yourself?
Jesus said;
JOHN 10:27 AMP
The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.
To hear his voice you must walk close to him you must watch the ark, your focus and attention must be on him and not the situations around you and when He says come, then you must be willing to move out of your comfort zone and walk towards Him.
Take out
Listen to the voice of God and allow Him to lead you and guide you, be courageous and have faith.
Remember
To obey is better than sacrifice, and you are not alone He is right there with you.
