Genesis 11:31 KJV
And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
To divert is to turn something from its course. Its to make it go in another direction away from the set course.
To finish strong you and I must be aware that the enemy will bring things along our way to divert us. Some of the things that divert us are good things because they tempting. We can also get diverted when we are hit with a tragedy in our life.
Abraham’s father Terah took his family and they set of on a journey. They had a course and a destination in mind, Canaan. They got to Haran and something became a diversion. Something took Terahs eye of his course and the bible says that they dwelt there.
Where are you dwelling? To dwell means to settle, it means he forgot the vision that he was pursuing and became content with where he had arrived.
The new year is here with us, maybe last year you had set a course for yourself but along the way something happened and you settled somewhere and gave up on the vision.
Do not settle there…. Re ignite the vision and keep moving because there is a place you must get to.
Reflections.
Where have you settled?
