Facilitators to Walking in the Spirit

Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Waking in the Spirit enables you and I to live life on a whole new level just like we see Jesus do when we read the scriptures. But this does not just happen simply because we have been born again, we have a role to play in it and unless we take responsibility then it will only remain something we read about in the bible but never experience.

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. To walk in the Spirit, we must do so in faith. In fact anything we do with or for God has to be done in faith because without faith it is impossible to please Him. Remember faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. How then do we get this faith? Romans 10:17 NKJV
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The word of God is the key ingredient when it comes to knowing God and walking in the Spirit. We cannot ignore the word of God and expect to walk in the Spirit and experience a victorious Christian life.

Prayer is another key element when it comes to walking in the Spirit. Through prayer we are able to commune and fellowship with God. We are able to speak to Him and hear from Him as well.

These are the basic disciplines that the early church walked in and we read of the great and mighty things they did as they walked in the Spirit.

Acts 2:42 NKJV
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [a]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
It was not a one time affair, it became their lifestyle and there in lies the secret of walking in the Spirit. How I pray that today’s Church would embrace the same commitment and tenacity that we too may turn the world upside down.
Reflective Thoughts
It is said you are as close to God as you want to be, how much do you want to walk in the Spirit?
