Effective Bible Study: Thorough Equipping

2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17 NKJV
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
For you and I to be effective in our Christian walk, we must be equipped. The Christian life has got challenges that we must overcome to effect growth and besides, the enemy of our souls is always looking for an opportunity to derail us.
Paul tells Timothy that the scriptures play a vital role in our walk of faith and thus we need to give the word of God the place of importance it deserves.
We must make it a priority to study the word of God because it is to our profit if we do so. Through the word we are equipped with the right doctrine. When we go of the rails as many times we do, the word of God brings us back on track through correction. This same word when we study it and apply what we learn gives us the instructions on how to walk in the path of righteousness making us fully equipped for every good work. As David said, they word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you.
The Bible talks about the work that was prepared beforehand for us to walk in;
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
We cannot walk in these good works that God has prepared for us without studying and meditating on the word of God so that we may apply the word in our lives. It is in the application of the word that we walk in goods works. The question then is, are you equipping yourself for good works?
Do you believe that all scripture both Old and New Testaments are profitable for you?
If you believe the word of God is profitable for you, how important is Bible study to you?
How can you better equip yourself for good works?
