John 11: 43-44 NKJV
Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
The bible tells us that faith without works is dead. When Jesus comes to Mary and Martha, their brother Lazarus is dead and buried. He has been buried for 4 days and the body is already decomposing. Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he commanded the people to roll the stone away and they did then he made a simple prayer after which he called to Lazarus with a loud voice and the bible says that he who had died came forth.
Think about this, all that Jesus did was speak and the response to his word became the miracle. He commanded for the stone to be rolled away and even though they did not understand what was about to happen, they obeyed. Then he commanded a dead man who was bound to come forth and he did. I wonder how he was able to walk out of the tomb yet he was bound. Jesus then commanded the people to lose him and let him go and they did.
Reminds me about what Mary told the servants when Jesus performed his first miracle. She told them “Whatever he tells you to do, do it”
The power in Gods word is activated when we walk it out in faith. Though Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he has to do his own walking from the tomb. Remember God has his part and we have our part as well.
Reflective Thoughts.
Do you believe the words that Jesus said?

How are you responding to that word?

Could you be waiting on God in some areas of your life yet he has already commanded you to come forth?
