Matthew 6:30
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
As we said yesterday, one of the definitions of Abba is source. God is our source for all we need. He is a good father and as a good father he provides for his children. This is the reason Jesus tells us not to worry about what we shall drink, eat and wear because God knows we have need of these things and he provides. When we worry, it gets us out of position because we start to walk in the domain of doubt and fear making us not to receive from God the good father because without faith we cannot please him.
One of the characteristics and names God is know by Jehovah Jire, meaning God will provide!
Genesis 22:13-14
13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, [c]The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”.
When Abraham was put to the test to sacrifice his son, God provided a ram, but this came as Abraham walked in obedience and faith trusting that God would provide or even raise Isaac from the dead.
Over and over in the bible we see God providing for his people in the hardest of circumstances. Over and over again he provided for the children of Israel in their 40-year journey through the wilderness. He is our source; he is our refuge and our help.
In seasons like this we have to rest in the reassurance that God our father knows what we need and he will make provision for it. As we rest in that assurance then we are able to focus on his kingdom and the work that he has called us to do. You may have lost a job or even had to shut down your business because of the pandemic but even with that God is able to provide.
May we learn to look to him, may we learn to trust in him and walk in obedience like Abraham even when what is before us looks impossible.
Remember in the mountain of the Lord it shall be provided.
Jehovah Jire!

Abraham declared to his son Isaac about Gods provision before he even saw it, what are you declaring over your situation today?
(Today write out your declaration and share it with the rest of us!)
