Do not Worry: Anxiety and Unbelief

Matthew 6:30
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

It is easy to say that we trust God when things are going well. You have a steady job, the bills are paid, you have food to eat and everything seems secure. But what happens to our faith when it is put to the test? What happens when the job is no longer secure or you lose it all together? What happens when the bills are due and there is not a cent in your pocket? What happens when you have no clue where the next meal will come from? Such are the times we are living in today.

The corona virus pandemic has put many in a situation where the very things we look to for sustenance have been shaken, what then do we do? The bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God and they that come to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him! Do you believe that God is your provider or was the faith just pegged on the job?

Worry, and anxiety and connected to unbelief. In fact they are a couple, you cannot separate them.
To worry about what we will eat, and how the bills will be paid is to declare that we do not believe that God can deliver what he has promised. It is to say that God is a liar. To worry is to challenge the very nature and character of God.

He says that if he provides for the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the valley which are of no value, how much more us who are the apple of his eye? Will the good and perfect father not do right and provide for his children? He who fed and clothed the children of Israel in the wilderness, will he not feed and clothe you? He who fed Elijah by causing ravens to supply him with food, he who multiplied the fish and loves that the multitudes were fed and there was more than enough left over, he who multiplied the widows oil, he who directed the fishermen to cast their nets on the right side of the boat and they caught so much fish it was sinking their boat, will he not provide for you?

All He requires of us is simple; to seek first the kingdom of God, make it our priority and as we do that, then all these other things shall be added unto us.

Reflective Thoughts.
Currently, what are some of the things that cause you to be worried and anxious?

Why do you worry about these things, is it that you believe that God is not capable to meet your needs or maybe you have believed that God does not value you enough to act on your behalf?

If you truly believe that God loves and cares for you and that he is looking out for you, what then should you attitude be concerning these things?
