Creating new beginnings: Hope for A New Beginning

Matthew 12:35 (NKJV)
35 A good man out of the good treasure [a]of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

Creating a new start has to do with your mind and how you think and not what you have. We have lots of stories of people who lost everything but they did not lose their minds and in due time they were able to start again and rebuild even to greater heights. On the other hand, we have people who gained a lot and, in the process, lost their minds and in due course they lost everything.

A good man has a good treasure and this treasure is stored in his heart. The heart here has to do with his thoughts and his feelings. It is how he processes what life throws at him. This means that a good man has a particular way in which he thinks and this thought process is what is his treasure. Remember proverbs 23:7 tells us that as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. Someone said it this way
“Watch your thoughts, they become words; watch your words, they become actions; watch your actions, they become habits; watch your habits, they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
For you to have a fresh start you must think like the good man in our key verse, you must not allow what you see on the outside to pull you down but rather you must allow what the word of God says about you to pull you up.
Romans 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Even in hard and tragic times like we are facing today with the Covid 19 pandemic, God has a good plan for your life but you must allow his word to renew your mind and way of thinking so that you may have a revelation of His perfect plan for you in this season.
Don’t think like the world, think like the renewed good man that you are and unleash the treasure within.

Reflective Thoughts
What are the main thoughts that dominate your mind, thoughts filled with HOPE or FEAR?
Are your thoughts stuck on the good old days or are you thinking about the good future that God has for you?
You cannot have a renewed mind without the word, have you given importance to Gods word for your life?
