Blinded by Sin

Imagine going through life blind. Imagine never being able to see color, not being able to see the very people you interact with every day, not being able to see where you are going and all the amazing things you are able to enjoy because of the gift of sight. Now that would be quite the shift because you have a point of reference of what it is like to be able to see. What if you had never seen before and so blindness was all you have known all your life?

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 But even if our gospel is [in some sense] hidden [behind a veil], it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing; 4 among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Sin will blind you; it will stand between you and the light. As we have learned this past few days, sin will entice you and when you bite the bait it will eventually enslave you and once it does so then it will blind you, blind you to the truth of God’s word. The light of the gospel liberates us, it lifts off the burden and condemnation of sin from our life. Gods light illuminates our path and our future and it is such an amazing future, when the revelation and reality of it hits you, you wonder why anybody in their right mind would reject it. But even with that, you have many people who go to church every Sunday or listen to preachers here and there or listen to music that carry’s the message of the gospel and yet they continue to live under the bondage of sin, why because the enemy has blinded them.

Luke 15:17
17 But when he [finally] came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough food, while I am dying here of hunger!

I love the story of the prodigal son and especially the above scripture. This young man had allowed sin to entice him, enslave him and blind him. He was so blinded that he was comfortable living among pigs but one day something happened, he came to his senses and in doing so he was able to see beyond the veil of blindness beginning the process of his restoration.

Have you allowed sin to blind you? It’s time to come back to your senses and run back home towards the light back home to a father who is eagerly waiting for you, back home where you belong.
