2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), 17 So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.
You cannot separate God from his word and we cannot answer the question “How does God speak?” without talking about the Bible. The Bible is the most important book for a believer because it contains the words and counsel of God to us. In fact he says “Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away!”
The parable of the sower is a practical illustration that demonstrates the power of God’s word in our hearts The seeds that fell on good soil germinated and bore fruit and that is what is expected to happen in the lives of those who allow the word to take root in their hearts. In fact Jesus says that the branch that bears fruit, God will prune so that it can bear much fruit.
Hearing and memorizing the word of God is good but not good enough. If you stop there you will just become an encyclopedia of bible verses that have no effect in your life.
The word must drop in our hearts and we must then apply that word in our lives then we will see the fruit thereof. The problem today is that we have many believers who know a few verses here and there but they do not know or they have refused to apply the word of God in their everyday life. This word tells us how to live life and get the very best out of it. Gods word is there to guarantee us success in all that God created us to be if only we will learn to apply it in our lives.
Just like God told Joshua
Joshua 1:8 New King James Version
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
This still applies to us, God speaks through his word and when we are careful and diligent to apply it in our lives in faith then we will see the results thereof!
