Have you ever left the house in a hurry and you forgot to look at yourself in the mirror to check if all is ok? I have on several occasions only to realize that something must be wrong because I got lots of stares and some cheeky smiles. Maybe because I had buttoned my shirt wrongly or maybe I had forgotten to comb my hair. A friend once shared how she had left home in a hurry only to be met with strange stares from strangers and she kept wondering what it was until someone pointed out to her that she had left the house with her shower cap still on her head. A mirror shows you how you really are, it shows you what you look like, it helps you adjust what is not right it does not lie, it shows you the real you.

James 1:22-25
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it— he will be blessed in what he does.

Most of us think we are good, most people will tell you so. I have not killed or raped neither do I steal. These are some of the things we say until we come face to face with the bible, the mirror that allows us to see who we really are based on Gods standard.
Most women carry a mirror in their handbags. Every now and then even in public places you will see one remove a mirror to look at herself to make sure all is well. If there is something wrong, maybe their makeup is smudged, they will go on to make adjustments to make it right because it is a big deal and they don’t care who is staring. How I wish we would all live life in the same manner that every now and then we remove our bible to check how we are and where things are not right we make adjustments.
Do you look at the mirror and the moment you walk away you forget what you look like therefore you make no adjustments? Just like the function of a mirror is to show us a reflection of our true self, the Bible also shows us accurately what we look like so that we can make adjustments, with God’s help and enablement.

Reflection
When was the last time you looked into Gods mirror? Have you been walking around for weeks without a mirror thinking all is well? Slow down take out your mirror, look into it there is definitely something that needs adjustment
